"উদ্দেশ্য"

ক্যারিয়ার সংক্রান্ত ভিডিওর সিরিজে আজকের ভিডিওতে আলোচনা করেছি "উদ্দেশ্য" সমন্ধে। শুধু মাত্র পেশাগত জীবনেই নয়, ব্যক্তিগত জীবনেও যে কোন কাজের পিছনে উদ্দেশ্যকে সুস্পষ্টভাবে নির্ধারণ কর খুব প্রয়োজন।

আমি অনেক সময়েই দেখিছি, মিটিং এ অনেক সময় ধরে বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হচ্ছে কিন্তু আসলে কি উদ্দেশ্যে যে আমরা মিটিং এ এসেছি তা ভুলে বসে থাকি। আমার নিজের জীবনের একটি ভুল থেকে উদাহরণ দিই।

আমি তখন একটি গবেষনা ল্যাবে কাজ করি। আমাদের ল্যাবের সাপ্তহিক মিটিং এ আমি একসময় হালকা স্ন্যাকস এর ব্যবস্থা করেছিলাম। যদিও আসলে আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল গবেষণার কাজ কেমন চলছে- তা নিয়ে সবার সাথে কোঅরডিনেট করা। এই খাবার পরিবেশন করার কারণে ধীরে ধীরে দেখা গেল আমরা সবাই সেই সপ্তাহে কি খাবার খাব- তা নিয়ে খুব ব্যস্ত। বিশেষ করে ইন্টার্নি এর ছেলেমেয়েরা গবেষনার কাজের থেকে চাদা তোলা ও মেনু এর সিলেকশনের কাজ নিয়েই বেশী ব্যস্ত। পরে বসের সাথে আলোচনা করে "উদ্দেশ্য" টা নিয়ে আমরা আবার নতুন ভাবে সেট করলাম। নাশতা বাদ দিলাম এবং আলোচনার ফরম্যাট নতুন করে সাজালাম।

এইভাবে "What is the purpose?" এবং উদ্দেশ্যগুলিকে ঝালাই করে নিলে সুফল পাওয়া যায়।

"Purpose"

In the series of career videos, today I've talked about the "purpose". In both our personal and professional life, it's essential to define the goal of any job.

I've seen numerous instances where various topics were discussed in meetings for quite a while and we've forgotten the reason we went to the meeting.

Let me provide an example of a mistake in my personal life.

I worked in a lab for research. I had once set up small snacks during the weekly lab meetings. While our intention was to communicate with all about how our research was taking place, it quickly became apparent that we were distracted by the food we planned to consume that particular week. The interns in particular are more involved in the process of collecting money and deciding food menus, rather than the actual research. After discussing the matter with the manager, we set up the "purpose" in a new method. We canceled the food in the meeting and altered the format of the discussion.

So "what is the purpose?" should be clarified.
